You must be a current member of the Sierra Rock Garden Society to create an account to the website.
On the left side you will see a link that says: “Create New Account”. Click that link and you will be asked to enter some information. You will need a user name (remember it!), and a valid email address. Your user name is what will be attached to posts that you post on the forum and other places and will be how you are identified on the website. Consider this when you chose it. If you want people to know who you are, chose a user name like “jsmith” that identifies you.
Your real name and email will not be visible to site visitors, only to site administrators like myself.
Once you submit this application, I will be notified via email. You will not be able to log onto the site until I receive that email, verify that you are a current member of SRGS, and activate your account. This may take time, sometimes even days if I am very busy .
Once your account has been activated, you will be sent an email with a “one time use” link that allows you to go in and set your password. Click on the link in that email. It will take you to a page that has your user name and other information on it. In the middle of the page you will see a place to enter your password twice. Enter it, scroll to bottom of the page and hit “Save”. (Don’t forget to hit “Save”!) From now on, you will be able to log into the site using your user name and password.
What if you make a mistake in the process? No biggie, it is easy to fix. Here are the most common problems:
1. I was sent the email with the link to access the site, but the link expired before I got to it. (The “one time use” link expires in 24 hours.)
No problem. Hit the link on the left side of the page that says, “Request new password.” You will immediately be sent a new email with a new one-time link. Check your email, click on the link and enter your password.
2. I don’t know what happened. Maybe I forgot to save, or I did something wrong, but when I put in my user name and password, I can’t log in.

3. I forgot my user name.
Contact the website administrator. Go to the website and hit the link “Contact us”. Tell me you have forgotten your user name and I will send it to you.
4. Okay, I have tried all the above and I just can’t make it work.
Contact the website administrator. Go to the website and hit the link “Contact us”. Tell me what is going on and I will fix it.
Please do not try to apply for a second account if you think the process failed. Instead, try the steps above. If all else fails, contact the website administrator using the "Contact Us" link on the website.
